Global warming--all fall down
We appear to be watching the monolithic titan of the institutional fight against global warming fall broken to the ground. And it appears to have been constructed of papier mache.Steven Cohen, Executive Director, The Earth Institute, Columbia University: The Real Politics of Climate Policy 2010
The public wants to see a new energy and climate policy.Roger L. Simon » Climategate – the scandal that keeps on giving, even here in Austin
Anthropogenic Global Warming is rapidly morphing into the greatest scandal in the history of science since the belief in a flat earth – and people had a lot more excuses for that. Not that the Obama administration is even beginning to acknowledge it. Who knows what they say to each other behind the scenes? They have enough to worry about. For the IPCC AR4, “weather events are climate” – looks like another retraction is needed « Watts Up With That?
But speaking of climate scalawags, how about my Congressman Henry Waxman of Waxman-Markey fame? The reified liberalist lifer undoubtedly is incapable of understanding the science for himself – in fact he admitted as much in front of his committee, saying he “relied” on scientists for that – but it would be funny to watch if and finally they do make a public rollback on this nonsense. Fortunately for sclerotic Henry, this will probably be avoided, since virtually no one is making noises about the risible cap-and-trade legislation any more. And Al Gore appears to have conveniently vanished from the public eye, a John Edwards of climate. (Actually, I’m surprised Gore hasn’t turned up in Haiti to do “pro bono” work to resurrect his reputation.)
We’ve been admonished by others in the blogosphere when we report on record cold weather or record snow stories of interest by hurling the maxim: “weather is not climate“. Yet when the IPCC does that, linking specific weather events in the IPCC AR4 report, such as a single heatwave, the same people have no complaints. As Davis Rose on the Times reports, the IPCC, under Pachauri’s leadership, botched that too. Now it looks like the IPCC will have to withdraw yet another part of the report.Rudd cool on warming | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog
Once again Rudd skips over global warming, which last year was the “great moral issue of our time”.How Rudd stacks the IPCC | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog
Either that warming was a gigantic beatup or Rudd has an astonishingly small attention span. I suspect both, but could Rudd please clarify?
What chance this side of Armageddon that Kevin Rudd or Climate Change Minister Penny Wong will nominate a sceptical scientist to the IPCC? Ditto for Britain and other nations where alarmist governments rule.Quadrant Online - Monckton in Australia
The Australian has performed best in giving space to sceptics and dissenters but has stuck to the save the planet line in its editorials, some say because Murdoch said so publicly. Yet in a personal communication with Murdoch he indicated his scepticism to me.
