We think our book shows that the politics of global warming overshadowed the science--indeed, it turned out that the people involved were more protecting a belief than investigating the truth.

Rajendra Pachauri, head of the IPCC, was an addressee of 8 of the emails leaked in Climategate, most of them discussing how to maneuver scientific papers into the right journal if they were favorable and out of existence if they were not. The fact that he was aware of their tactics does not make him culpable. But it does make it clear that the Hockey Stick was an institutional imperative, not part of a scientific hypothesis.

It seems that across Canada all but ONE of the Arctic temperature recording stations data have been chucked out and Half of the High Elevation (above 3000 ft) recordings. Just coincidentally it seems that South American Andean mountain observations have likewise been chucked from the data records. In a similar trend, we have recorded the scandals of the China observations which were shown to be falsified (reported records where NO recording sites ever existed) and the Russian reports and the African reports and the Indian glacial melting fiction.

As a journalist, I believe the Climategate emails have exposed one of the most significant news stories of the decade. As the mainstream news media has so far barely gone beyond giving those who wrote them and their supporters time and space to deny their undeniable contents, I present here an extensive journalistic account of what they actually say in the context of the dates and events in which they were written, with full links to all the emails.

Having now read all the Climategate emails, I can conclusively say they demonstrate a level of scientific chicanery of the most appalling kind that deserves the widest possible public exposure.
