Independent scientists have discovered that previous estimates regarding the melt rate of Himalayan glaciers were wrong. Combined with last fall's "climategate" scandal, these findings add to the arguments for climate change skeptics.

These added insects might mix things up in the ecosystem of Central Europe, says Patrick Tobin, an ecologist who works for the U.S. Forest Service in Morgantown, W.Va. An extra generation of insects provides more food to the animals that feed on them. Those predators, in turn, might start to increase their numbers, which would make life tougher on the other species the predators eat, Tobin told Science News. On the other hand, with an extra generation, an endangered insect species might have a better chance of recovering.

...if we don't stop this global warming, some day we'll have to dig down through the ice to find the Eiffel Tower.

But it's an ill wind that doesn't blow some good. With the ice taking up water from the oceans, there will be lots of new waterfront to buy in Florida. We Canadians can leave the encroaching glaciers and purchase a lot where the ocean has receded.
