Althouse: How will Yale close its $150 million budget gap?
Sorry about your budget gap, but why the hell did you have winter thermostat settings above 68°? Even — even — if you have money to burn, you should want to keep temperatures at least that low for health and comfort. And I do not believe that the people who run Yale think that there's such a thing as anthropogenic global warming worth worrying a damn about. In fact, if you actually thought cutting carbon emissions was important, your thermostats would already be at 62° or lower. If you thought AGW is an emergency — of the sort Al Gore warns us about —you'd set the thermostat at 52° or lower.Jim Hopkins: Scientist's racy novel turns up the heat - Opinion - NZ Herald News

"Umm, remind me, darl ... Ms Frangipani," Sanjay smiled. "what report are we talking about?"
"Well, it's not exactly a report, Sir. More a couple of lines in a letter from some doped-out hippy who was trying to save the Tibetan mountain whale."
"At last, something authoritative on which to build a consensus. Release an IPCC report immediately!" cried Sanjay.

"As a gesture of support and respect for the post of chairman of IPCC, the Indian government bears the cost of running the IPCC office in New Delhi and there is nothing unusual about it. It has been a trend in the IPCC that the chairperson is financially supported by the home country," he added
Asked how much the IPCC paid him, Pachauri said "not a single member of the IPCC gets money". He is only reimbursed for travel expenses, he said.
