- Bishop Hill blog - A comment from Roger Harrabin
Roger H's comment is as follows:
Professor Jones agreed the interview with me on the strict condition that it was not broadcast. I pressed to do TV and radio but was refused. The university say he is not well enough to do a broadcast interview. The BBC kept the deal. For the BBC news website interview I sought questions from several prominent climate sceptics.
Make of it what you will.
Science blogger finds errors in Met Office climate change records - Times Online
After trying to reproduce figures shown in scientific publications and on the Met Office website, Dr Graham-Cumming identified a number of problems with the way measurements from Australian weather stations were being averaged. He found that data from seven stations were being accidentally discarded. Data from a further 112 Australian stations, 28 per cent of the total, were not being fully included in calculations of year-on-year temperature differences.

Bob Ward, policy and communications director of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics, said that it was vital for the credibility of the climate science community that people took seriously freedom of information requests and access to data. “Some people have been slow to recognise the demand for this kind of openness. You can’t pick and choose to whom you make the data available,” he said. However, he warned against creating an environment in which scientists were vilified for coming out with a view that was later shown to be wrong.
Penalties needed for mandatory recycling | SeacoastOnline.com
...there has been a substantial fall-out from the decision to make the program mandatory. Department of Public Works employees charged with trash pickup have been accused of opening garbage bags and failing to pick up any that have recyclables in them. Some town residents have become annoyed at both of these activities.
John Hawkins : Five Wacky Ways Libs Want to Fight Non-Existent Global Warming - Townhall.com
Soon, the global warming "true believers" will be down to environmental extremists, scientists on the global warming gravy train, and hardcore socialists with ulterior motives for promoting an increasingly ridiculous theory.

With that in mind, it's worth taking a look at some of the extreme, impractical, and bizarre changes that liberals want to make to our way of life in an effort to fight a threat that's about as real as Barack Obama's campaign promises.
Global Warming Could Lead to More Lightning Deaths : TreeHugger
While the climate change phenomena is of primary focus to researchers participating this study, the behavior of the sun will also be analyzed as a possible culprit for the increase in lightning strikes.
Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Bluefield, WV - Climate change debate not settled, but dissenting science ignored by some
As the science of global warming crumbles, the reaction of warmists to the revelations is interesting. The scientists say these revelations are a petty issue, while the policymakers go merrily on as if man-caused warming is settled science and everything is just hunky-dory.

All of this supports the idea that “saving the earth from humans” is more about an ideology turned into a religion than about a real threat to the environment.
Global Warming “Deniers” Were Probably Right
The biggest scandal in the IPCC’s closet remains its 1995 claim to finding a “discernible human influence” on the earth’s changing climate. Lead author Ben Santer of the Lawrence Livermore government laboratory inserted those words—after the IPCC’s consulting scientists had signed off on a draft that specifically said no such “human fingerprint” had been found!

Santer deliberately reversed the meaning of the whole IPCC 1995 report—and the trajectory of every IPCC document since. He claimed the rewrite was justified by two of his own studies.
