How much global warming today? United States launches climate service - Green House - USATODAY.com
Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said that the new Climate Service would help business with long-term plans. For example, a wind power company can better expand if it knows wind patterns.

Commerce Gary Locke announced the creation of a climate service and the launch Monday of a website, www.climate.gov, that gives data on greenhouse gas emissions and other weather factors.
