Many area schools shut today as road clearing continues | Richmond Times-Dispatch
As many in central Virginia started to dig their way out of Saturday's snowfall, transportation services slowly returned for road-weary travelers.

The accumulated snow - up to 14 inches in parts of the region - forced schools in Richmond and Henrico, Hanover and Chesterfield counties, both public and private, to close today. Most college classes in the area were canceled.

Frustration mounted for Greyhound customers facing a third night stuck in Richmond. Food and departure information were in short supply, said those who were stranded. The Red Cross provided pizza Saturday night and breakfast yesterday morning, said Lorenzo Battle, operations manager at the station.

"This is the most horrible experience of my life," said Rosemarie Caponegro, who is returning home to Florida from New Jersey. She walked during the snowstorm to a nearby Econo Lodge where she stayed Saturday night, but she had second thoughts about doing so again because she said there is no priority seating if outbound buses leave today, and she doesn't want to miss her bus.
Pelosi's Children and Grandchildren Used Military Jets As Private Cross-Country Shuttle Service So They Could Avoid Dealing With the Rabble
Is it a legitimate use of military jets to transport the Speaker of the House and her favored Congressional coterie for routine travel? Even if you believe it is -- and, personally, I do not -- any rational taxpayer would admit that it is monumental waste of money. Military flights cost between $5,000 and $20,000 per hour to operate. The Speaker and her passengers routinely reimburse the Air Force $120 to $400 for each flight.

Since Nancy Pelosi took over as Speaker in 2006, she's rung up millions in military travel expenses to commute between San Francisco and Washington.

Worse still, she also appears to have requisitioned entire flights for the personal use of her children and grandchildren. That is, unaccompanied by any member of Congress, her kids, in-laws and grandchildren are utilizing entire military passenger jets for their routine travel needs.
...
Rep. Nancy Pelosi -- in my humble opinion -- has abused her office by ordering military jets for the travel convenience of her children. It would seem that the instances highlighted above constitute, at minimum, a complete disregard for the American taxpayer's funds.

Pelosi must resign. Or she should be forcibly removed out of office. These activities, if not outright criminal, smell to high heaven.

USDA declares Florida freeze disaster areas | The Packer
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has declared nearly all of Florida counties as natural disaster areas after record cold weather struck the Sunshine State in early and mid-January.
...
Growers and grower groups say the cold damaged a minimum of a third of the state’s winter produce and up to 75% of south Florida vegetables.

“Record cold temperatures over an unprecedented 12-day period dealt a serious blow to Florida agriculture,” Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Fla., said in a news release. “I have spent several days inspecting farms across our state, and it is clear that every sector of Florida agriculture — from aquaculture to zucchini — was affected.
