Obama Says Cap and Trade Could Be Split from Green Jobs Measure - WSJ.com
NASHUA, N.H.—President Barack Obama said for the first time Tuesday that legislation that would require industries to pay for emissions of greenhouse gases may need to be separated from a more popular "green jobs" bill in the Senate, a maneuver that could kill what once had been one of the administration's top policy priorities.EU Referendum: Worth a snigger or two

Mr. Obama's comments on Tuesday came amid new signs of resistance by some fellow Democrats to his administration's efforts to combat climate change.
On Tuesday, two senior House Democrats—Reps. Ike Skelton of Missouri, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and Collin Peterson of Minnesota, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee—introduced legislation to prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse-gas emissions under the Clean Air Act. In a written statement, Mr. Skelton called for setting aside legislation already passed by the House to cap greenhouse-gas emissions, and instead passing "scaled-back energy legislation" that could command greater support in both parties.
Despite what Pachauri is saying, there was expressed a real sense of unease in the Newsnight programme (we'll post a link when it's up - part here), as numerous commentators gave every indication that they understood the depth of the crisis confronting them.
And, with Fred Pearce back in The Guardian, questioning peer-review and the hockey stick, with Moonbat also holding forth, it is clear that there is indeed a crisis.

While focus has been on EPA and national implications, carbon traders long ago took a short cut via state and regional shake downs. The "action" on CO2 emissions trading in the US is well on its way.(Bloomberg reported and others). Many businesses including hospitals have been bullied into ridiculous carbon offset auctions and the like. The EPA fakeout is just icing on the cake.
