"Reality" Check on Old Ice, Climate and CO2 - Dot Earth Blog - NYTimes.com
[Alarmist Richard Alley, a glaciologist and climate scientist at Michael Mann's Penn State] ...demonstration that there have been large climate changes in the past without humans in no way demonstrates that humans are not now responsible. Many people have died naturally but murder still exists; it is up to the police to learn whether a given mortality was natural or not, and up to climate science to learn what is causing ongoing changes (and we have good confidence that most of what is happening to climatic global average surface temperature is being caused by humanity now). Similarly, demonstration that life, and humans, survived warmer temperatures in the past in no way shows that warmer temperatures in the future are good for us.
Al's Journal : Miliband Fights Back
Deniers have been grasping at straws, attempting to make the case that there is no climate crisis. But the evidence [what evidence, specifically?] is simply too overwhelming. As we learned a few weeks ago, 2000-2009 was the warmest decade on record.

The fact is, the media has been complicit in these efforts, often giving equal voice to those attempting to distort the truth for political or financial gain. Ed Miliband is exactly right to take them head-on.

A great unknown is what the Senate might propose to replace the House’s cap-and-trade program, which has been vilified as a “cap-and-tax” system by critics and deemed a nonstarter by Graham.

Professor Franks also pointed out that Neville Nicholls was one of the chapter’s Lead Authors, and David Karoly, whose work was also heavily cited in WG1 Chapter 9, was its Review Editor.

Quipped Franks: “Hence they cite and review their own papers as part of the clearly flawed IPCC process.

Unbelievable.
