Roger L. Simon » “Science” as practiced by Mother Jones
Evidently Mother Jones hasn’t gotten the message. Since Climategate, Glaciergate, Amazongate, NASAgate, TemperatureDataGate, etc., etc., with more to come, almost everyone is now concerned that there is no real proof that CO2 causes global warming (if there is indeed any of the latter). Even The Guardian is jumping ship, but not MJ. Oh, well, there have to be some nostalgics.
Change of Climate - Mark Steyn - The Corner on National Review Online
You have to assume that America's dying monodailies are now actively auditioning for state ownership. How else to explain the silence of the massed ranks of salaried "environmental correspondents" on the daily revelations emerging from the fast disintegrating "scientific consensus" on "climate change"? You get livelier coverage from the Chinese press.

But in competitive newspaper markets they still know a story when they see one. Surely the most worrying sign for the thuggish enforcers of "settled science" is that even the eco-lefties at the Guardian and the Independent, two of the most gung-ho warm-mongers on the planet, are beginning to entertain doubts.
C3: The Siberian/Polar Ural Larch Treeline: Evidence That Arctic Areas Were Warmer Than Present
The past treeline of high latitude northern areas are excellent indicators of historical temperatures. The higher a treeline it indicates that the growing season was warmer and longer. As the red curve in the below representation indicates, the modern treeline is well below the past treeline of the Siberian Larch (Larix sibirica). Also note the estimated past Arctic Ocean shoreline some 10,000 years ago. That much farther north shoreline was prior to the interglacial global warming that melted the ice sheets and glaciation over thousands of years.
Put [brainwashed] kids in charge of climate
I’m tired of fat cat bureaucrats and politicians gambling away our survival. Aren’t you? Copenhagen was a let-down, despite an impressive and coordinated effort by the global climate action movement. The deals hammered out in the UN talks would let CO2 increase well above the 350 ppm – the magic number to avoid catastrophe. Not good.

That’s why I’m putting my money on kids to solve this thing. After all, their future is at stake; and they’ve been watching the adults in the room act like children, so they’ve figured it’s time to take charge! And I say thank goodness. Child-led climate movements and initiatives are springing up everywhere, including in schools.
CBS ‘Early Show’: ‘Cute and Cuddly’ Animals Threatened by Climate Change | NewsBusters.org
In the 8:30AM ET half hour on Tuesday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Maggie Rodriguez teased an upcoming animal segment: “...we have some visitors to the studio of the animal variety. Some of them are cute and cuddly....But they’re all in trouble due to climate change and you’re going to see these animals from the San Diego Zoo and hear about their precarious situation ahead this morning.”
