Two months after Copenhagen summit, U.N. climate pointman to quit | Grist
Despite the controversy, De Boer had persistently said he would remain in the job. His “contract runs out in September, but he certainly has no intention of leaving and expects it to be renewed,” a member of the UNFCCC said in an email to AFP on Jan. 20.
Tire Review - Heavy Snowfall Causes TCI Warehouse Roof Collapse
TCI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MNA, said the 16,000-square foot Dallas warehouse is roughly 30 years old. A section of the roof caved in Feb. 12 after record snowfall in the Dallas area. In addition to the roof, about 7,000 tires were damaged.
[But it's just weather]: Mongolia: Harsh winter wipes out millions of cashmere goats | Spero News
Ulaan Baatar – The cold winter that brought heavy snowfall, icy winds and temperatures averaging minus 35 Celsius has also killed more than 2,000,000 heads of livestock, especially cashmere goats, known for their soft and warm wool. The survival of Mongolia’s nomadic herders, who account for approximately one-third of Mongolia’s labour force, is at stake. This year’s harsh winter comes on top of a very dry summer, which hampered the ability of many herders to gather sufficient supplies of fodder and hay.

Mongolian herders are used to cold winter, but very few if any remember one like this one, the harshest in living memory
Global warming on a warm San Francisco night--I wasn't born there, perhaps I'll die there...
I studied electronics on Treasure Island, and stood many a watch in front of the base administration building. The level of the Bay has not risen appreciably--it laps gently at the breakwater placed there for the 1915 Pacific Exposition and World's Fair. You still get the same magnificent view of San Francisco and the bridges as you face the sunset.
Right, Wing-Nut!: Thomas Friedman: Average American's Intelligence Is That Of An 11 Year-Old
That's because Friedman thinks that anyone who actually studies the faulty data, reads foreign newspapers to get a sense of the scope of the climate scam (including the peer-review scandal), and who actually believes that science is an ongoing process are idiots. The truly enlightened know that once some person with a PHD before their name gives credence to one of their fantasy sequences, it thus becomes an unimpeachable fact. C'mon, everyone in his echo chamber knows that!
