Dot Earth 2.0 - Dot Earth Blog - NYTimes.com
After 940 posts as a news blog, Dot Earth is moving to the Opinion side of The New York Times, where it will re-emerge in about a week. Don’t expect momentous changes. I’m not going to suddenly be revealed as an ardent liberal [snicker] or conservative.

I am an advocate, for sure — for reality.
...
As a freelance blogger, I will say what I think in ways I could not when I was a Times reporter.
Climate Common Sense: World's largest ice sheet melting faster than expected - At Minus 20 Degrees C???
With a mental picture conveyed by alarmist reports of a sheet of ice sitting in the sun and melting it is probably worthwhile to check the temperatures of the ice sheet mass where any snow turns to ice and remains ice. The temperatures over the East Antarctic ice sheet are more than 20 degrees below freezing all year round and while looking at the interface of the continent with the sea may give warmist headlines and the reality is that Antarctica is not melting - at the temperatures involved it is not possible.
Email from Maggie Fox, CEO of Al Gore's Climate Protection Action Fund:
This is the moment we've been waiting for. With the health care fight over and a climate bill already passed in the House, we have precious little time for the Senate to pass its own version before Washington shifts into election season.

The stakes have never been higher. If we succeed, we can create up to 1.9 million new American jobs and spark whole new industries that will help us win the global race to lead the clean energy economy. If we fail, we face rapidly growing carbon pollution levels and a climate crisis of catastrophic proportions.  [Note that even Fox mentions money first, then the global warming hoax.]
