EXCLUSIVE: Inhofe Blasts Gore Over Climategate - HUMAN EVENTS
Of course, the big farce there is that the notion, the thing that I said seven years ago, that anthropogenic greenhouse gases are causing catastrophic global warming just flat isn’t true, it is a hoax. And the general public now realizes, and the majority of the people understand this. So I think they’re going to try to rename [cap and trade], and they’re going to try to put together something, I think that Lindsay Graham’s always willing to throw in with the Democrats on something that might be, you know, be enhancing to him personally. But this isn’t going to work, they can say it all they want, they’ve been trying to work, by their own admission, for now months and months and months to come up with something where they can pass as cap-and-trade without calling it cap-and-trade, and all I can say is, it’s not going to work.

[This guy really, really fears trace amounts of completely natural atmospheric gas]: Peter Daou, Political consultant, former adviser to Hillary Clinton
Of all the wrongheaded ideas proudly trumpeted by America's right, anti-environmentalism occupies a unique position: it is at once the most devoid of a rational or moral foundation and the most dangerous. Let's not mince words: it is selfish, crass, illogical, willfully blind, a denial of the undeniable reality that humans are pillaging irreplaceable natural resources and spewing filth into the air and water and soil at unsustainable rates.
Post Carbon: Cap-and-trade declared dead--again - Juliet Eilperin
Here at Post Carbon, we've moved past that. We're looking at whether a cap-and-dividend plan can fly, in which the federal government limits emission but returns most of the money it gets from auctioning pollution allowances back to taxpayers.
In Climate Change Denial, Money Talks - Emily Gertz - OnEarth Magazine
The ratio of science-literate to science-challenged responses in our blog comments, email, and in-baskets is so unbalanced, the scale is broken.
...
US climate change skepticism can't just be a result of widespread paranoia, either, since global warming deniers are far from unique in the annals of pseudo-science conspiracy theories. UFO obsessives, chemtrail conspiracists, and free energy suppression believers also are sure that they have ferreted out a truth millions of others fail to perceive. Like climate change deniers, they all privilege sketchy sources of data and information over more coherent, verifiable, mainstream sources. And they're convinced that the government and scientists are in cahoots to hide information from the public, probably to get across some sort of social domination scheme.
