Firefighters investigate cause of North Fort Myers blaze
"Some people might think with the colder weather we've seen lately, it might be putting a bit of a damper on some of the brushfires, is that really the case," said James Isaacs with Florida Division of Forestry. "No, not at all, the cold air, it's actually going to increase your fire potential."Left-wing climate scientists are “fighting back”
Forestry officials say the colder, drier air can make fires spread even quicker.
Undaunted by his failures, however, Ehrlich has found a new boogeyman to scare us – “anthropogenic global warming” – but his methodology is the same old same old. You see, Ehrlich’s error over 40 years ago was to take a snapshot of current trends and project it forward into the future, without regards for any changes in the extremely complex processes he was trying to model.Climate data strong enough to take action - mcall.com
I find skeptics are influenced mainly by political commentators, church leaders and the media that focus on exciting news rather than solid science. Skeptics are also confused about the difference between local weather and large-scale climate patterns.Libs losing poll edge on economy
Skeptics tend to be folks who have not read the science but get information from pundits and other sources. There are lots of vested interests in denying global warming who refuse to place responsibility directly on human actions despite overwhelming evidence.
However, to show the importance of understanding the reality of global warming, representatives from over 170 countries met in Copenhagen in December to discuss the problem, information for which was provided by scientists of the highly prestigious Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The ALP has fallen from 57per cent in 2007 to 51per cent as best party on the environment, reflecting its difficulties in the climate debate, with emissions trading legislation bogged down, the failure of the Copenhagen conference and the insulation debacle. The Coalition, which has run hard against a trading scheme since the change to Mr Abbott, has risen from 27per cent in 2007 to 36per cent. The Greenroom » Forum Archive » A whole lotta methane from the deep (GW-apocalypse #9)
No one else cares or believes, or likely will care or believe, until and unless bears give birth to hares, oxes give birth to foxes, and the faces on Mt. Rushmore weep tears of human blood. That is the state of things post-Climategate, post-Glacier-gate, post-IPCC-horndog-gate, etc. That may not be a good state of things, compared to some other states of things, or then again, that may have been the way things always were, or at least for a very long time. Very long. Not a long time compared to measures of time on greater scales, but quite long compared to lesser-scaled ones.
