New vending machines stay cool without warming the planet | MNN - Mother Nature Network
After Coca-cola realized that the largest part of its carbon footprint — 40 percent — came from its refrigeration equipment, it began testing HFC-free technologies and rolled out its first climate-friendly machine in 2002. Today, it has about 120,000 HFC-free units in the market, preventing 630,000 tons of CO2 equivalent over their 10-year lifetime — that’s similar to saving 86 acres of trees. The company’s goal is for all new equipment to be HFC-free by 2015. [If Coca-cola wants to heroically save the Earth from 63,000 tons of CO2 per year, why don't they just spend about $17 per day to buy some bogus carbon credits for a dime apiece?]
Global Warming Hoax: Forums / General News / BREAKING UPDATE: The Gate's: When Shall I Open? Further? by Dennis J. Feindel
My intentions for this article were to gather, in its basic form, what’s been happening since “Climate-Gate”.
William M. Briggs, Statistician » Climate Model Uncertainty: Part II
Measurement error is a problem is two ways. Historical measurement error can lead to built-in model biases: after all, if you’re using mistaken data to build—or if you like “inform”—a model, that model, while there is a chance it will be flawless, is not likely to be.

Plus, even if we use a MOS-type system for climate models, if we check the MOS against observations measured with error, and we do not account for that measurement error in the final statistics (and nobody does), then we will be too certain of the model’s accuracy in the end.

In short, the opportunity for over-certainty is everywhere.
