Mansfield buries February snow record | Ohio
February snowfall was 49.2 inches, almost doubling Mansfield's former record for the month of 25.8 inches in 2007, according to the National Weather Service. The norm for the month is 9.9 inches.

Columbus got 30.1 inches of snow and Cincinnati got 26.1 inches, breaking records in both cities. The Akron, Canton and Youngstown areas also shattered February snowfall records, with 37.2 and 36.3 inches.

People who think it’s been colder than usual in Springfield aren’t imagining things.

The National Weather Service reports that both January and February have been colder than usual. The average maximum temperature in February, for instance, was 33.7 degrees, 5.2 degrees colder than the normal February. The average minimum temperature for February was 18.5 degrees, which is 3.7 degrees colder than the normal February low for Springfield.
