Why Climate Change Doesn't Matter
This winter, I was out on the streets of Boston interviewing random people about their thoughts on the outcome of the Copenhagen conference. I was very surprised at what I heard: 7 out of the 10 people who spoke with me thought that scientists hadn't yet proven that climate change was caused by human activity. It had been thought that Mr Rudd would call an early election over opposition in the Senate to his climate bill but the debacle over the roof insulation scheme and a resurgent Liberal Party under new leader Tony Abbott has given him pause.

Despite cold weather in Britain and Northern Europe, across the world as a whole it was the second-hottest January since surface temperatures were first measured 130 years ago.
Mr Davies commented: "If true it will be a reminder that short term changes in local weather bear no relation to long term changes in global climate. While we freeze, others boil."
