The Senator’s efforts to build support for climate policy will be supported by the release of four separate reports on climate by the National Academies of Science under the rubric of “America’s Climate Choices” and the release of another Academy report on the implications of stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations. Very interesting series of posts today on the blog of Dr. Claes Johnson, Professor of Applied Mathematics, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden on his physical derivation of a climate model which predicts the sensitivity of the earth's climate to a doubling of CO2 to be only 0.15ºC, which is in far better agreement with the five peer reviewed studies of empirical satellite data, and in stark contrast to the IPCC/GISS models which artificially inflate the effect of CO2 by a factor of up to 5.35 over the Stefan-Boltzmann prediction to create their artificial alarm.

...global warming theory – which is the justification for new taxes (which is what cap and trade is, since it imposes a cost that will be directly surcharged to the consumer) – has been developed and advocated primarily by the UN and other governmental agencies. Very little research into global warming has been funded by non-governmental sources – - and it is the government that stands to benefit from the result.
