With the exception of the Southeast, Delta, much of Texas, and portions of the Pacific Northwest, temperatures across the country were abnormally cool during the week. Most notably, average temperatures in areas of the central Rocky Mountains and Great Plains, as well as in the Northeast dipped to as many as 10 degrees or more below normal, slowing the emergence of some spring-planted crops.
