General Election 2010: Why don't we have a real Opposition to Labour? - Booker - Telegraph
Again, the major parties are unanimous in mindless support for the inanities foisted on us in the name of an increasingly discredited belief in runaway global warming. On Thursday, Gordon Brown was again babbling about how we are going to create "400,000 green jobs". This wholly fanciful figure is based on a computer model which claims, inter alia, that we are already employing 75,000 people in the "geo-thermal energy sector" and that we shall soon see 69,000 more people working on wind turbines – when 90 per cent of the work needed for our largest offshore wind-farm project, the London Array, will be done abroad.

Global cooling is the killer, not global warming.

Global warming melts ice and gives us more arable land, which is a good thing because we have 7 billion mouths to feed now (or will in a short time).

Global cooling shortens the growing season and causes things like the Irish famines of the 1840s.
[Why would an AGW believer own a second home?]
The Tory shadow climate change minister avoided paying capital gains tax on his second property that he purchased with subsidies from Parliament.
Greg Barker donated £10,000 to St. Michael's hospice in St. Leonards, Sussex, for less than the likely capital gains tax he would have had to pay to HM Revenue and Customs (Inland Revenue). Although his expenses were cleared by auditor Sir Thomas Legg, Mr. Barker told the Commons that the property was his second home, while telling HMRC it was his primary residence, therefore avoiding payment of any capital gain on the sale of his property.
