Environmental award winner says going green good for wallet
Although the climate change awards are administered by Gov. M. Jodi Rell's steering committee on climate change, Gorham said the governor's policies have cut one-third of the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund. He is not pleased she vetoed an energy bill that its supporters said would have reduced the state's electric rates by 15 percent and jump-started "green energy."

"It's not enlightened leadership," Gorham said of Rell's veto. "It's not the right message. We should be investing more (in energy efficiency), not less."
