Degree Days View « Musings from the Chiefio
So, to me, just looking at the Degree Day map explains a great deal about our “Global Warming”. We’ve moved the thermometers to where the people are located, down in the valleys, and put them at the airports where solar heating works really really well on black tarmac. But go ‘out in the country’ and it’s not so hot… and as in the case of Washington, it’s even below average and quite cold.

For Washington we could clearly make either a warming or a cooling ‘trend’ by simply choosing where we put the thermometers.
Reid warms to July climate vote - POLITICO.com Print View
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said she supports tackling climate change through a bill that starts with the electric utility industry, which produces about a third of the nation’s greenhouse gases. But she isn’t sure the votes are there and fears the issue could be lost for a long time if Reid can’t muster the 60 votes needed to thwart a filibuster.

“The question is, we’ve lost three times, I don’t want to lose again,” she said, referring to Senate floor votes on climate legislation in 2003, 2005 and 2008 that never received more than 48 votes.

Robert Dillon, a spokesman for Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), ranking member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, said he, too, is dubious of Reid’s plans, which appear to set aside only a limited amount of time for floor debate.

“The idea that the majority leader has set aside only a week to debate a comprehensive energy bill on the Senate floor shows that he’s not serious,” Dillon said, adding that he expected to debate a series of amendments on climate change, the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository — which Reid opposes — and a plan authored by Rockefeller to block Environmental Protection Agency climate regulations for two years.
C3: Amazongate, The Final Verdict: The IPCC Is Guilty As Hell
As most sentient beings have finally come to realize over the past twelve months, the IPCC is a political organization, with a political agenda, using non-scientific means to mislead, misinform and misrepresent. Or, to put it in more colorful terms, the United Nation's IPCC is a non-repentant agency of climate science bullshit, and any "scientific" claim emanating from this agency should be intently scrutinized and parsed to determine its veracity and objectivity (lack thereof).
Will ‘Solar Trees’ Sprout in Parking Lots? - Green Blog - NYTimes.com
Now Envision is trying out another idea. On Wednesday, it will announce that with financing from the state of Pennsylvania, it is trying out a “solar tree” mounted on a gimbal, a mechanical device with rings mounted on axes at right angles to each other.
“Is Climate Really Predictable on 10-50 Year Time Scales?” by William R. Cotton « Climate Science: Roger Pielke Sr.
Considering the stochastic external forcing parameters(eg. volcanoes), uncertainties of solar variability forcing, and the tendency for strong model biases on time scales of 2-5 years let alone 10 to 50 years, I see no evidence that climate is predictable on these time-scales nor will it be for decades to come (a forecast!).
