Government dumps Green Loans after scathing reports - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Climate Change Minister Penny Wong is to dump the Government's Green Loans scheme, after three scathing independent reports exposed extensive mismanagement.

The scheme was aimed at making it more affordable for Australians to make their homes more energy efficient.

The reports found widespread lack of compliance with government regulations on procurement, absence of effective program supervision and poor financial controls for the program, among other things.
