South Africa - So much for global warming - Frost causes widespread crop damage
Very cold conditions and frost in the Soutpansberg region caused widespread crop damage on vegetable farms, which could result in supply shortages.

“Some areas recorded temperatures as low as -10°C and farmers who have lived here for a very long time say this is the coldest winter they have experienced yet,” said Robert Gallom of the Alldays Farmers’ Association.

Unprecedented cold caused extensive damage and farmers lost between 10% and 100% of crops to frost, said Stephen Hoffman, chairperson of the Soutpansberg District Farmers’ Association.
