Snow! That's the word that will be associated with the Pacific Crest Trail for the thru-hikers of 2010. I have been running into snow for over 500 miles. Yesterday, for example, (summer in the mountains of California) I walked for miles in snow that completely covered the trail so it was a matter of navigating over the terrain to where the trail might be visible again. At times there were a good six feet plus of granular snow.
