NYT: Lost in the Wilderness
The official resistance to wilderness signage, in particular, has become a safety issue. Every summer numerous backpackers, hikers and hunters get lost in the wilderness, with occasionally fatal results. The Forest Service listened to their complaints about the lack of signage but refused to act.The Greening of Godzilla - Walter Russell Mead's Blog - The American Interest
