Marshall Islands Urges Fast-Start to [Climate Hoax Payments to the Marshall Islands]
Despite the threats to the Republic of the Marshall Islands sovereignty posed by climate impacts, the Pacific nation will not go underwater lying down, according to Phillip Muller, RMI Ambassador to the U.N.
...
Earlier this year, the RMI government contacted Michael Gerrard of Columbia Law School’s Center for Climate Change Law "to explore creative approaches to the legal issues facing low-lying island nations as climate change causes sea levels to rise." In August, the Center put out a call for papers for a "Conference on Drowning Island Nations: Legal Implications and Remedies" to be held in Spring 2011.

Ambassador Muller told the New York Times that his government has assumed political leadership in offering to cut its own emissions by 40 percent — one of the most ambitious targets in the world.
