Climate Lessons: Maths, Science, Ego - what are we doing re 'climate' in our schools?
Mostly, though, it seems to feed on the joy of controlling others - what they eat, drink, and smoke; how they light, heat, and build their houses; what opinions they may hold on this that and the other; what transport systems they are allowed to use; and how far away their trading partners are permitted to be. All based on fear. Irrational, spirit-sapping, mind-numbing, truth-obscuring fear. What a way to prepare the young for the future.
Biased BBC: HELP! MORE OF THE SAME...
I'm getting bored with keeping track of BBC greenie/environment/climate alarmism nonsense - there are so many stories, so much rubbish, so many inane, insane claims, that each report I file here is looking and sounding like more of the same. Black, Harrabin (though he has been keeping a low profile of late) Kinver & co seem to be under instructions to provide a torrent of one-sided propaganda, so much so that I have no doubt that this is being coordinated. They are like the Terminator androids, capable of self-repairing and continuing with their pre-programmed, lunatic mission no matter what happens. The latest is wearisomly here; it's going to get warmer by 4 degrees C over the next century (the models say so), so a bunch of loony scientists have constructed 20 big saucers (sorry, "replicated ecosystems" in the language of the green religion) and have studied what happens at different temperatures. Why they need to do this, I do not know (or care), because I think any child would tell you that plant and animal life is different in a lake in tropical Africa from one in Canada. But hey-ho, this is science grant money, so it can be sprayed around like champagne on the Grand Prix winners' podium.
American Thinker: The Religious Right Takes a Hard Left
The fact that the Religious Left has convinced so many people to make man-made global warming an integral part of their faith is, in my opinion, a direct result of artificial science surrounding this theory with an air of infallibility. Specifically, many otherwise conservative Christians have embraced (some knowingly, some unknowingly) a progressive political theology largely because our media, politicians, educational institutions, and corporations have successfully portrayed man-made global warming as an undeniable truth. The decision by science to participate in this dissemination of propaganda is inexcusable. If it will instead renew its commitment to objective inquiry, religion will be able to free itself, at least temporarily, from faith in bad science. Until that time, those of us who continue to use incandescent light bulbs and set our thermostats to 72 degrees may find ourselves increasingly unwelcome in our religious communities.
American Thinker: The Extremism of Barbara Boxer
A poll conducted earlier this year for the National Federation of Independent Businesses shows that a majority of Americans oppose cap and trade while only 37% of us support it. The same poll showed that by a margin of more than three to one, Americans believe that cap and trade would increase energy costs and, by a margin of more than two to one, believe it would reduce economic growth. Mrs. Boxer, however, in fealty to the large environmental advocacy groups from which she has garnered so much support over the years, continues to advocate placing this additional burden on the struggling American economy.
