Mike Fitzpatrick loses his fear of carbon dioxide

As a Congressman, Fitzpatrick issued a press release on the threat of global warming. He stated, "Climate change is one of the largest environmental threats the world faces today and the United States cannot ignore this problem + Greenhouse gas emissions will continue increase without strong government leadership, and so I am pleased to co-sponsor the Safe Climate Act."

Fitzpatrick is now against the so-called "Cap-and-Trade" legislation.

He represented the state's 8th Congressional district in the U.S. House for a single term, and lost his bid for re-election in 2006 to Democrat Patrick Murphy by a narrow margin. He will run for his old seat in 2010.
