Tanzania gets Sh4.4bn from EU to fight climate change
The European Union (EU) has allocated 2.2 million euros (Sh4.4 billion) to Tanzania for the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) financing mechanism aimed at addressing climate change challenges at local community levels.

Tanzania is among an initial four pilot countries that will benefit from the mechanism. The other three beneficiaries are Cambodia, Vanuatu and Maldives. The EU’s total contribution to the GCCA is 140 million euros.
