Chris Niskanen: Higher temp poses new challenges for deer hunters - TwinCities.com
A caveat: I'm not about to wade into a political or scientific debate here about global climate change. I'm looking at only Minnesota data for November, a small sliver of data. The facts here are presented only as facts. I'm not about to speculate about what is causing higher temperatures.
[DNR climatologist Greg Spoden] is an expert on Minnesota climate data, and I agree with him on this:
"I'm a believer that the climate for Minnesota is warming," he said last week. "The very sticky political question is attribution — what is forcing this warming — and that is for global climate-change modelers and other scientists to tackle."
Will a pattern of warm Novembers continue? I have no idea, nor does Spoden, because predicting climate in Minnesota is very, well, speculative.
"We're talking about the unknowable," Spoden said. "We don't know if warm Novembers will continue onto the next decade."
