There’s money to be made in global warming
Does your newspaper have the resources to investigate the enormous profits being made from the “global warming” controversy? The Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in particular seem to be using Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” as a convenient excuse in explaining why their wildland fires are burning so large. Unfortunately for us, the profit margin in wildland “firefighting” is better than for the Mexican drug cartels.Speech Crimes & Ethics 101 « NoFrakkingConsensus
Every spring the Forest Service comes to our fire department to tell us that the “global warming” is causing the increase in wildland fire activity. Yet the Forest Service/BLM will never admit how the drastic reduction in cattle grazing and the elimination of logging has resulted in an enormous increase in the fuel load on our public lands.

Since I believe the majority of what we now view as “climate change” is just part of a natural cycle in the climate system, I argued from the outset that NASA should be also selling “Mission to Planet Earth” as a way to better prepare ourselves for natural climate change — something that history tells us has indeed occurred, and we can be assured will occur again.
But behind the scenes there was a strong push for policy changes that even most of the scientists involved supported — ultimately culminating in the governmental control over how much and the kinds of energy sources humanity would be allowed to use in the future.

Your blog post is either a rip off of a letter to the editor in the Billings Gazette, or the writer of that letter ripped you off. OR MAYBE both were written by a staff writer for a lobbying group with an agenda. Either way, I doubt the credibility of either - as both an intelligent person, and as an experienced wildland firefighter. Here is the letter in question: http://billingsgazette.com/news/opinion/mailbag/article_e1337d08-e62a-11df-9cbf-001cc4c002e0.html
