In Huizhou in the far southern province of Guangdong, agricultural products worth 220 million yuan ($33 million) have been damaged by the cold weather, posing a threat to the task of stabilising vegetables prices, the China News Service reported. The temperature in the region fell to 2.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest in 35 years, the report said.

PLAINVIEW, Minn. (AP) - Rescuers have freed dozens of cattle trapped after heavy snow caused a freestall building to collapse in southeastern Minnesota.

Sixty-four cattle were trapped when the roof came down on the building on the Ray Mussell farm near Plainview early Tuesday.

New Delhi, Dec 22 (IANS) In an effort to spread warmth in the bitter cold of Delhi's winter, a social organisation has urged people to donate warm clothes to the homeless.

According to the Aashray Adhikar Abhiyan (AAA), which has launched 'Save the Lives' campaign along with Arc International, there are approximately 150,000 homeless people in Delhi and every year there are many deaths caused by extreme cold.
