Hospitals under pressure as slips and falls soar in icy conditions

Hospitals have been under pressure this week as Arctic conditions eased and people suffering after slips, falls and illnesses were able to reach A&E departments.

NHS West Kent said that in 2009-10 there were more than 5,800 falls-related hospital admissions in the primary care trust’s area, which includes Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.
