India: Cold snap beats "all its previous records"; global warming blamed

WARDHA: Beating all its previous records, Wardha was freezing at 4.7 degree Celsius on Saturday. The minimum temperature on Thursday and Friday were 6 and 5.2 degree Celsius respectively. There is some solace because of the sun though cold winds continue to blow all day long.

Summer too experienced an extreme with the highest temperature being an alarming 48 degree Celsius.

Environmentalist are worried. They say the sudden change in climate is a result of development at the cost of the environment and the effects of global warming.
