Las Vegas on tap to record its coldest New Year’s Eve high temperature
The National Weather Service said Las Vegas will see a high of 38 degrees today. That’s well below the coldest high temperature ever recorded on Dec. 31 in Las Vegas, which is 45 degrees set in 1975.COLUMN: Going out into the snow | South Carolina
The snow gave an extra wintry touch to the wreaths on the lampposts along Main Street. On the palmetto trees just south of town, it looked almost surreal — the juxtaposition of the cold weather precipitation with a plant that thrives in warm climates.
