Record-breaking chills hit Broward and Palm Beach counties Tuesday morning as temperatures dipped into the 30s overnight, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
Palm Beach International Airport reported a drop to 34 degrees overnight, breaking a 1928 record of 38 degrees on the same day, meteorologist Barry Baxter said.
In western Palm Beach County, frost covered crops as the mercury sank below freezing to 29 degrees.
