Vancouver: “Ironically, it’s been in this age of supposed ‘global warming’ that we’ve had more white Christmases — 1990, 1996, 1998 and 2008.”

No white Christmas this time around, but memories were shared with me in a Christmas Day e-mail from fellow watcher Roland Derksen in Vancouver, B.C. He writes:
...Christmas 1966 didn’t turn out snowy and I felt betrayed! I eventually discovered that it was a rarity, as the next few also were ‘green.’ It wasn’t until Dec. 25th, 1971, that we had our next white one. Then after that, I had to wait another 19 years!
