Winter may be coldest in 1000 years
BRITAIN’S winter is the coldest since 1683 and close to being the chilliest in nearly 1,000 years.

Latest figures reveal that the average temperature since December 1 has been a perishing -1C.

That makes it the second coldest since records began in 1659.
Close encounter with ice-free polar bears shocks Coca-Cola exec
A close encounter with polar bears in northern Manitoba on a recent trip has left a trio of corporate partners shocked about the extent of global warming and renewing commitments to reduce their environmental footprint in partnership with customers.

"It's such a heart-wrenching way to learn a very hard lesson about climate change," said David Moran, director of public affairs and communications for Coca-Cola in Canada. "We've used the polar bear in our marketing material for over 80 years. So for us, the polar bear has a particularly warm place in our hearts."
Maybe he should sequester even more deadly global warming pollution in Coke cans, and then encourage us to drink only tap water?

UK surface area: 243,610 km2
Earth surface area: 510,072,000 km2

In other words, the UK comprises 0.05% of the Earth's surface area... tell me again why its weather is being portrayed as representative of the globe as a whole? Tom?

How much of the Earth's surface does Moscow cover? How about Pakistan?

The Moscow heat wave was (at least) 4 standard deviations above the mean.... The UK snow certainly isn't.

Headline from R-C site:

Coldest Winter in 1000 Years Cometh – not.

This claim circulates in the internet and in many mainstream media as well: Scientists have allegedly predicted the coldest winter in 1,000 years for Europe. What is behind it? Nothing – no scientist has predicted anything like it. A Polish tabloid made up the story. An interesting lesson about today´s media.

Tom did not portray UK's weather as representative of the globe as a whole so your question is based on a false premise.
