He is a leading venture capitalist in “green” energies and an advisor to Scientific American. Khosla is starting to change his tune about the economic viability of “green” energy.

Besides, the increase in the number of deaths due to the bitter cold has given rise to a situation where relatives have to queue up at crematorium to perform the last rites of their dear ones. The problem is compounded by a shortage of wooden logs too.

"The number of deaths has increased... it has almost doubled," said Gautam Dave, president of the Shri Sartsrvati Muktidham Trust in Siddhpur, Patan district, on Sunday. Attributing the rise in deaths to the prevailing weather conditions, he said the number has gone up to 40 to 45 from the usual 20 to 23 a day.
