A German cycling enthusiast almost lost a few fingers after attempting to bike through Siberia in subzero temperatures, a Russian news report said Tuesday.

Sven Riedel has been hospitalised after suffering severe frostbite, a hospital employee told Russian International News Agency (RIA Novosti).
