Mt. Shasta Ski Park extends season after record snowfall » Redding Record Searchlight
With record snow dumping on the area, the Mt. Shasta Ski Park is extending its 25th anniversary season.
Originally scheduled to close April 17, the park will be open April 22-24 for the Easter weekend.
The ski park had nearly 22 feet of snow at the top and more than 8 feet at its lodge Monday, capping a week that saw an estimated 6 feet of new powder added to the slopes.
The city of Mount Shasta has broken a 108-year-old snowfall record for March with 97.9 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The old mark of 88 inches was set in 1903.
