Fruit farmers in the Ararat Valley are worried over this year’s apricot yield, as a violent wind caused damage Tuesday night, and there are warnings of frost for Wednesday night.


“They say that it will be 2 degrees [28.4F], but I am afraid it will be even lower,” Margarita Vardanyan, resident of Jrashen village in Ararat Valley told ArmeniaNow.

(Reuters) - BNP Paribas Fortis said on Wednesday it is cooperating with Belgian authorities in an investigation after a newspaper said the bank may have been a victim of suspected carbon tax fraud.

Belgian newspaper De Tijd on Wednesday reported, without citing sources, that Fortis Bank NV, the Belgian banking arm of BNP Paribas, had been the victim of carbon tax fraud and lost over 72 million euros ($104 million) in 2009.
