In November of 2007, Scientific American published an article it called "State of the Science: Beyond the Worst Case Climate Change Scenario."

It was based on the Synthesis Report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The Scientific American article summarized the IPCC report so its readers could more readily grasp what the world's climate scientists and representatives from every nation on Earth, including the United States was warning them was coming.
