Nosedive moment for warm mantra | Herald Sun
Puzzled historians will one day ask how the great global warming scare died so suddenly, in mid scream.
7.30 - ABC - The nation's recently-appointed Chief Scientist, Professor Ian Chubb, joins the program.
IAN CHUBB: Well I think it's my role to make sure that the people who have real deep and long standing knowledge in the field are out there speaking and informing. I mean I could never be the expert on climate change that you would find in somebody who's been working on it for 25 years. I mean it's just not possible. But I think knowing where those people are, ensuring that they have a platform and knowing where the people are who oppose their views. I mean I think science is improved by robust but civilised debate. I think we lost a bit of civility in the debate from time to time and I think I would like to see people who have knowledge, who have their views, put it out there, debate it and ultimately improve our knowledge.
