Breaking: Planet to "be roasted by 2100"; sea levels to rise 50 meters over time

NunatsiaqOnline 2011-05-04: NEWS: Calls for political action on Arctic climate change: scientists
“What’s really is remarkable is how far it’s going to rise,” according to models, [James White from the University of Colorado] said.

How high? As much as 50 metres over time, he said, with rising water drowning states, nations and cities.
...
Inaction on climate change means “the planet is going to be roasted by 2100,” said Bob Corell, the chairman of the 2004 Arctic Climate Impact Assessment, at the conference.

Sure, it must sound reasonable to them that the rate of sea level rise will jump 150-fold in a near future, from 30 cm per century to 50 m per century.

Also, along the way, the oceans will warm by 120 °C to something like 150 °C, and the water will become olive oil so that the Earth may be roasted.

Of course, to roast the Earth, the oily oceans will have to jump not only 50 meters but 8,8 kilometers - but with the fast progress in climate science, this is no longer a problem, either.

All of it sounds very sensible.

Children are also taught that 500 ppm of CO2 makes the planet uninhabitable for most species - half of your puppies, kittens, and pets die if you take them to your house where - the horror - the CO2 concentration is often 800 ppm or higher.

Cheers
