NASA scientist backing climate-change lawsuit against White House? « Hot Air

How does the administration that pledged to change the way Washington works handle internal disagreements?  Apparently, they make lawyers rich and tie up the courts.  James Hansen, who runs NASA's Goddard Institute, is currently backing a lawsuit against the administration for failing to address global warming — and is using teenagers to do it:

Republican factory owners killed your family and friends in the catastrophic blizzards, floods, tornadoes, massive wildfires and other climate change that has been wiping out the bible-belt. This is the Climate Change that their factories created. This is the Climate Change that the Republicans lie about not existing. This is the Climate Change that they program their constituents to deny exists. This is the Climate Change that killed people, destroyed homes, further destroyed the economy that the Republican factories emissions caused so they could make profits by killing those people. Republicans deny Climate Change at all costs in order to keep their factories from having to pay to stop it. The Climate Change that is destroying massive sections of our country can no longer be hidden or denied.

Actually, I think the blizzard caused a tornado which blew the floods over the massive wildfires thus saving the unicorns and we can all vote for Obama again. Yea!!

But, but, which Unicorns did Ben & Jerry melt down for glue?

How, HOW are we going to string up Richard Branson for all his polluting ways, however inadvertent?

This is a hippie nightmare! I guess we're just gonna' have to string up Democrat factory owners too! (pour encourages les autres)

I just thought all their private islands and 40,000 square ft. homes were made from pixie dust. It REALLY hurts to care sometimes....

Okay, Hansen is the head of GI-NASA, not NASA itself. Fact is Hansen and Gore and maybe NASA link him to NASA and its credibility all the time. Denial, yes, but also useful.

As any citizen in a free country, which America is in general terms, Hansen can say and support as he pleases, and we tolerate the authority he brings to it by his job. Your job, your college and your college degree and how tall and attractive you are all go into how we unwashed masses short-circuit the tortured path to determining credibility. Salinger in New Zealand screwed up and became persona non grata for not distinguishing his personal from his professional life (if I get it right) and making people believe he spoke for his bosses as well as himself. Hansen seems to be better at the game (and can't be accused of actually CREATING bad science himself). He's actually attacked Obama for not doing what Jimi thinks, so we are not confused about where he and his administration stand (even though they stand close to each other).

Lawsuits like these are the educated equivalent of calling others names or thowing mud pies at them. If a) conditions for Joe Smo were actually deteriorating, and as CO2 goes up each year the heat in Joe's parking garage increased with the electric bill for his AC, Hansen wouldn't need to support silly students with suits (SSWS). Joe (and people like you and me) would be right behind him, calling Obama the Chamberlain of Climate Change (Coolness! Coolness in our time!). Jim knows the reasoned way to get his way is done. And that science and reason were never the prime drivers of his de-industrialize, de-populate plans anyway.
