Did Big Pond ever correct their report on the numbers at the rally?
According to the Police there were "around 800".
Rob Oakeshott replied to the invitation to attend the rally on his website:-

The debate surrounding a price on carbon is not about whether or not climate change is real, but rather the best way to address its impacts on our way of life.
Unlike both the Government and the Opposition, my position on climate change and a price on carbon has remained consistent. That is, a market-based response is the cheapest and most efficient way to respond – a view held by Julia Gillard, Malcolm Turnbull, Kevin Rudd and John Howard amongst many others.

I advocated for the introduction of an emissions trading scheme in my first speech to Parliament in 2008, and voted in favour of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme on all three occasions that it came before the Lower House between 2008 and 2010.
