Actor Rhys Muldoon appeared on stage to say how delighted he was to be addressing a rally where everything was "spelled properly, where people care about etymology".
Cate Blanchett, who fronted the Say Yes pro-carbon tax ads, attended the Sydney rally, but kept a low profile.
