Only 30 Wagga residents show up to carbon tax "Say Yes" rally - Local News - News - General - The Daily Advertiser
While thousands gathered in Melbourne and Sydney to support a carbon tax, the turnout in Wagga illustrated the region's apathy towards the controversial policy.
About 30 people gathered outside the Civic Centre for the "Say Yes" rally, which was organised in just four days through Facebook and was further hindered by freezing conditions yesterday morning.
Guest speaker Greg Conkey said the term “carbon tax” was sending the wrong message to people and instead referred to the carbon price as a “fine on big polluters”.
